We called in from a long hike, hungry and tired. Abe’s was the rest spot we needed with hearty and delicious no fuss food and plenty of friendly banter at the bar. A great memory and somewhere we hope continues to keep its charm.

The food is pretty great, they have some specials in their menu, the tamales and the taquitos special are my favorite. Here is a pro tip, order a side of guacamole (it’s actually just some smush aguante) but totally worth it.

We stopped in at Abe’s Cantina the other evening for a quick beer and the crew and patrons made us feel right at home. We also had the honor of meeting Abe. He is an amazing man with an amazing life story. Great service and the prices are right, too! I would recommend anyone stop by Abe’s for a glimpse into an incredible town and its incredible people.

I can honestly say it's damn good food! Their menudo is good when you can get a bowl (because it goes quick), Chile cheese fries are on point and my personal fav there homemade tamales smothered in red Chile and cheese! A must stop in my book. It's not a very big place but it does have a bar attached to it as well. Lol good food and good beer always make a great memory. I've came here when I lived in the area and still frequent the place even though I love more then 1000 miles away. It's worth the trip.

I miss the green chile stew from Abe's SO MUCH. I wish I could either get the recipe or order a gallon to be shipped to me in WI! I remember my everything bagel, cup of green chile stew and 2 shot red eye breakfasts very fondly. Sigh.

The pork tamales with green chiles were better than I've had anywhere else. The prices are fair. Very low key and unpretentious. Next time I'm in Taos County, I'll go back to Abe's.

You're a fool if your on the way to Taos Ski Valley and don't stop in on the way up. This is a MUST for all visitors in the area. GREAT burritos and service too. Lena was an excellent host and I had a lifechanging conversation with her while she made my delicious breakfast. You may pick up some groceries too, and hit the bar on the way back into Taos for a celebration beverage after a long day skiing. I'm a fan of small businesses and this is a family owned and operated place for like over 50 years or something. This is the kind of place you can stop in every year, and I'll bet they will remember you each time! Love it!!!

Very friendly family owned bar and restaurant. The 96 year old veteran, Abe, and his daughter, Olympia, made fantastic margaritas and chuck berry wine. 14/10. Highly suggest.
